Best boutique hotel in colombo. Relaxing environment in the out door setting, friendly staff & great food. Pink Salmon steak i had was done to perfection. Even in the mid day you could stay outside with the fan on. Theres a beautiful wine going up the wall and you could hear the birds chirping. Sometimes the crows might try to attack your food but thats on rare occasions.
At dusk they light up candles for the tables giving lighting up the place in a soft hue. This is also a great space for reading. No one bothers you. Theres also a library in the hotel. They provide parking space for visitors.
I have been going there quite often and i would recommend to try this place.

We had a choice of staying at the Kingsbury or at Tintagel and we chose the latter going by the reviews on Tripadvisor and were glad for it.
The property itself is an old-world-charm, classy and elegant experience. The service is impeccable and the rooms well appointed.
My only grouse was against the receptionist who doubles up as a concierge. No useful information was provided for activities, sightseeing or to-do/must-do things in Colombo and whatever was coaxed out of a hastily googled scenario turned out to be misguided and half-baked.
As a frequent traveller, I lay a lot of emphasis on the quality of concierges in a hotel and this was the only area where I found Tintagel seriously lacking.
My suggestion, go ahead and stay where Prince Charles holed up with Lady Camellia.

Spent two nights here and lucky we found such a wonderful hotel. Relaxed quality atmosphere, with a large bedroom and bathroom, along with a huge balcony. Lovely cosy courtyard for a quality breakfast, served by charming staff. It all takes a while but worth waiting for.
Tip: Get a taxi from the airport for 3000 Rupees. Hotel charge 10000 for a similar vehicle. I expect them to make a profit, but their prices are a rip off.

Shopping in Sri Lanka can take many forms haggling with a handicraft-seller while sunbathing on the beach choosing fruit from the traditional village store, ‘the kade’ while side-stepping sacks of rice or checking out the bargain-priced latest international fashions (Sri Lanka is a major garment exporter) while enjoying the ambiance of a luxurious shopping centre
