The gorgeous rooms on the ground and first floor have French doors, which open onto the tropical-style private courtyard/ balcony, where guests can enjoy their breakfast in the sunshine or just relax with a good book. Mango House also has two adjacent Superior Double courtyard/ balcony rooms on each floor. All are decorated in Dutch colonial style blended with contemporary European and Asian themes.
Mango House is located in the heart of what is today a UNESCO world heritage site.
Dating back to the 16th century, Galle Fort has been colonised by the Protuguese, Dutch and British. It was the main gateway to Ceylon and an important trading post along the spice route.
Seafarers and traveller from around the world along with local Sri Lankans have all left their traces and today the fort is a unique blend of all these cultures with locals and travellers mixing together in the bustling streets.
